When building your dream life it’s crucial to acknowledge the impact that past trauma can have on your ability to receive and maintain abundance in various aspects of life.
Affirmations. Just those cute little phrases that get printed into journals, stationery and pens. Oh, and don’t forget the ones that fill your Pinterest boards or Instagram feed. They are so common, and most of the time - there is no context. They are hollow words and statements that you read and dismiss. Affirmations are more than that, though
I never really knew what stress or anxiety felt like. Sounds blissful, right? Well, let me explain. I was raised by an emotionally abusive father. His moods and reactions were erratic at the best of times, and at the worst of times … well being in our house was anything but pleasant.
On the first of October, I faced the biggest challenge I had set for myself so far. I was one of the speakers for TEDx Wolverhampton 2022. Not only was I going to be giving a talk in front of a live audience and streamed online, my talk would also be put on the TEDx YouTube channel. And the biggest hurdle - I was talking publicly about the emotional abuse I experienced from my father and my ex-husband.
